UPDATE:To complement the exhibition “Synthetic Times: Media Art China 2008,” a Beijing Olympics Cultural project opening at the National Art Museum of China in June 2008, media art pundits debate imminent topical issues revolving around the exhibition themes: Beyond Body; Emotive Digital; The Recombinant Reality; and Here, There and Everywhere. With an introduction by Zhang Ga, artistic director and curator. The evening event kicks off a pre-exhibition symposium (April 15) held at Parsons, the New School for Design, and EYEBEAM, in conjunction with the National Art Museum of China.

Great video. When Double Happiness hit the news, I commented on the danger of this scenario and that real world laws would apply to these working relationships at among other places Business Communicators of Second Life. http://tiny.cc/dCLST. Unfortunately, I have little doubt that the practice of ‘employing’ avatars for less than the prevailing minimum wage and without regard to existing laws will continue until the inevitable Avatar-Workers Rights lawsuit is filed and won.
